my man's a winner

Kym is the King.

He is in Roma in QLD for the National Clay Target Shooting Comp. Some 800 hundred shooters are there this year. There are a number of grades to this sport
AA (the elite (Olympians)) and the very bloody good. (Kym is normally in this grade)
A (Kym atm)
B
C
Ladies
Juniors
Veterans

Kym is the National A grade winner for the Medley event. 25 targets each of double barrel, single barrel, point score, handicap and one other (not sure what this one is)

(Annie sent up her doll called Bob (??no idea why??) to look after Dad while he's away. Bob is wearing Kym's gong)

To be in AA you need higher than 98.5% accuracy over 500 targets. that is miss no more than 7 out of 500. (I think that's about right, close enough)

I am very very very proud of my man.
(pic pinched from one of my posts back in January.)

Sean telling his Dad what a champ he is. LOL

pedal power

seeing a lot of blue lately. not bad for a chick who is not particularly motivated by that colour.
oh well.

LO 4 for Project 7 ( and its only Day 2 LOL.)

I used texture paste for the flourish and popped the bike there to make it look like its burning rubber. LOL. And a bit of pearl to show that its a chick smoking up her tyres. LOL
am adding a bit of lace and bits to the autograph LO below.

your autograph

have been on a bit of a scrapping roll of late.

Spring cleaning this morning. Started off as a hunt for a mouse that was a bit on the nose. After stripping all the beds and turning the mattresses over while I was at it, I found it. Hidden behind the bed leg on the floor. bye bye mousee.

wash wash wash. beautiful day out there even tho I didn't see much of it.

went into town to give J a start on Photo shop *waves*

Had a phone call from Kym in Roma QLD. SA came 2nd in the National Clay Target Shooting Titles for the team event today. yay for him. I am so very proud of him getting into the team but pulling a team 2nd (Victoria came 1st) is fantastic. And to top it off the SA Veterans won, the SA ladies won and the SA juniors came 4th. Big day for SA.

A fantastic young chap (all of 17yrs) from Kimba came 2nd in the National Title for Point Score. This is out of some 800 shooters. And he is a junior to boot but kicked Senior ass. Go B. So proud of you. You are really in the zone mate. Keep the concentration focused. Its a long week ahead yet.

anyway LO 2 of Project 7 (7 in 7 days)

this is how you curtsy

and another. LO 3 of Project 7.

journaling says

hold skirt out, foot behind and bend the knees.

so always love your family

Morning.

I am involved in a Project 7 challenge. 7 LOs in 7 days.

so day 1.

Little Yellow Bicycle love notes paper. so divine. and lots of subtle bling.

can now reveal......

such a gorgeous day here today. i should be outside in the garden!! Dont think I'll get there somehow. Since the scrap bug bit so hard the garden has had to be self reliant. Luckily when I planted it so long ago it was with low maintaince in mind. Paying off divedends now.

Thankyou to all the lovely Peeps who take the time to leave a comment. I love getting them and read them all. It does make maintaining a blog all the more worth while when I get feedback. And not just chatting to myself out there. So thanks to you again.

cheers

Miss Diva

This one came together at the scrap nite up at Shabby Chic Shack. *waves*.
I finished another project too but I cant show that one just yet. *wink*
We have had Miss T stay with us yesterday and last night. She is about to go home shortly. She has helped me cook pancakes this morning, lunge Jerry (my horse), she scrapped and now she's chilling out with a DVD with the kidlets.
Yesterday she had a photo shoot, assisted in a huge big toss out of Annie's toybox stuff to fit in her homework desk, splashed around in the wading pool with the kids, collected the eggs from the chooks, helped out with tea, and had long false nails put on.
She is such a joy to have and is wonderfully helpful. Thanks T. We would love you to come back any ol' time.

nostalgia

I just had a flick back in Annie's first scrap album.

A conversation came up the other day about what day your children were born on. For the life of me I couldn't remember. A bit embarrassed too.

So hence the 'flick back'

I have learnt something very valuable.

Styles come and go, but its the story behind the photo and the photo itself that is so important. And date everything. Something I didnt do a lot of in the beginning (6.5 years ago), and now I wished I had have. I have been religious about dating every LO for a number of years now.

So i just switched off from the world for awhile and took a trip down memory lane.

no news

nothing to blog about really. Havent scrapped today. Had school canteen, followed by an education in Apple Mac computers followed by Annie's gym, followed by tea, followed by a search for a fowl smelling dead mouse in behind the pantry, followd by LO paperwork for mags, followed by office furniture rearrange. So have been on the 'puter for a bit to make sure I plugged everything back in right.

so far so good.

scrapchat day tomorrow. I bet Sean doesnt sleep in his swag again. Scrap nite at Shabby Chic Shack this Friday nite. wahu. cant wait for that one.

oh and Kym leaves tomorrow for 2 or 3 weeks for his National Titles comp for clay target shooting. So I will be living the life of a single mother for a bit.

tbh I love it when Kym is away, and I love it when he comes home. Keeps things fresh iykwim???? ;)

safe on Dad's back

just gotta love Little Yellow Bicycle. The Fleur Edge is divine. And works so well with Kraft card and raw chip. Book page torn from my school Thesaurus. (it's falling apart so I didn't feel too guilty about ripping into a book) LOL

green green grass of home

challenge LO from the E2C blog. Using diamonds. (not the bling kind)

So used the perforating and the pinking blade in the Kaiser Cutter. As DH would say, use the right tool for the right job!

just gotta love Love Elsie

Tiff had a little comp on her blog a little while back. You need to leave in your comment 3 quirky things about yourself. I had to confess that I lack iron. Not in my diet, but I don't do any ironing. In fact I don't own an iron. So this little fact, amongst others that I let her know of, won me a prize. And LOL Tiff added a Christmas card to say hi. She is one funny chick who is having a ball trying out Challenge blogs and she is doing really really well. She has won lots of bits and pieces for herself.

So thanks Tiff for my Love Elsie goodies. The will come in good use on the right page no doubt.
;)

her point of view.

can now reveal after publication in Scrapbook Creations Vol 71.

After the interview with Annie on her thoughts of me, I had the germ of an idea for a LO. So without any further ado I got into it.

Just gotta love Photoshop and A3 printers.
;)

Scroll down below to read the interview post which is the journaling in this LO.
Gave me a good giggle.

they say the darndest things.

Found this on Kim's blog and thought it a great chance to find out what Annie thinks of me.
(Also a scrap idea for a LO)
;)
copy and paste the list. write out their answers word for word. It's so worth it.
Annie - 6 and a half
1. What is something mum always says to you? I love you
2. What makes mum happy? When I say happy thanks to her.
3. What makes mum sad? When she says goodbye.
4. How does your mum make you laugh? Tickles me
5. What was your mum like as a child? Beautiful (awwwwwwww)
6. How old is your mum? I dont know, how old are you? Please, tell me!!
7. How tall is your mum? nearly as big as Dad.
8. What is your mum's favourite thing to do? taking photos and scrapbooking. (she's spot on)
9. What does your mum do when you're not around? Does jobs.
10. If your mum becomes famous, what will it be for? Because she learns everything. (ROFL)

photo comp

I entered this pic into the Free Eyre Photo Comp some time ago.

I had confirmation back today that I came runner up.

Christine Smith from Rudall caught an awesome shot of lightning that very deservedly took out the first prize.

So if you are in Adelaide, call into the Free Eyre Office at 20 Payneham Rd Stepney for a looksie.

The pics should be on their website soon.

bye bye baby

its a bit of a sad feeling when I am getting rid of the baby stuff.

It means that there will be no more babies.

It's final.

No going back.

I quit the cot, the high chair and a lot of the infant toys a while ago.

But the pram going has made me sad.

bye bye pram.

Retreat photo CD

Hi Ladies.

I know you all are waiting for the group shot from our fantastic scrapping retreat weekend. I have sent one as a huge file to all the guests on the weekend. I have a couple more of the group but as these are such big files I only picked out one.

Thankyou to you all for making it such a wonderful experience for all of us on the team. It does make all the time put in behind the scenes so worth while.

I would also like to formally say that I am vacating off the team and will be sitting with you on your side of the scrap table next year.

Cant wait for that. Bring on e2c10

I have a lot of other photos from the weekend.

If you would like a photo CD of the Retreat please let me know by emailing me with your name and postal address. It will be $5 for the CD, packaging, postage and a smidge for my time. Those in the know will know my email address. (did that make sense). I'll email my postal address to you that way rather than broadcast it here.

Unfortunately you will not be able to pay by cheque or direct credit. I can only accept cash or Australia Post money order. I am sorry to be a pain, but this photo CD is from me and not from the E2C team. I would rather not have this money go thru my personal business accounts.

So please let me know as soon as so I can it done and out to you as soon as.... ;)

thankyou
love to you all.

E2C - the details

Amanda has blogged a detailed overview of the weekend on the Escape2Create blog. So rather than repeat it all over again, pop over there for a looksie.

I will post some of my own pics here and on there after a day of two (need to sort them first, all 400 odd of them)

LOL

always

one of the LO's I am most proud of that came together on the retreat last weekend.
journaling says

Paige. You are so near and dear to our hearts. Annie and Sean love you, trust you and take enormous delight in you.
I love you, trust you, respect you and take enormous delight in you too.
You are my assurance of their future. If Kym and I believed in Godparents we would wish you so much to be their God Mother. If something ever happened to us, we know you would be there for them. But with that comes great responsibility. And we do not want to burden you with that when you are just setting out in your own life.
I know you will always be here for them. You have told me that yourself. And that gives me peace.
Your own family is special to me for the trust they showed in my family when you stayed with us in 2007. That year will always be a specially fond memory for me. And for the kids too.
With you, our family is 5.Always and forever.Tiff xXx
love ya Paige.

always

twister

mother nature can be so powerful.

We had a twister not far from home (about 7 kms if that as the crow flies).
Fortunately it was in paddocks with no damage to homes or people. I can only imagine 'what if???'

Good mate Scott Bascombe caught some totally amazing shots on his camera.

The CFS truck was about 200m away from it (apparently).
Settlers Road looking south.

Kym was driving towards it snapping with his mobile as he went. He got some awesome shots between the trees outside our home...
with Marble Range in the background.... impressive cloud formation.
and as the twister broke free of the ground and started to lift...

Mother nature can make you feel so small and insignificant.

lbd

Maryanne. Thanks for reminding me.

With all the madness of Retreat planning, family and life in general I forgot to post these pics of the 'knock their socks off' LBD. If u have no idea what I am on about have a look here. Scroll down a bit and you'll see what I'm on about.

ta da.

hamming it up before the camera. Thanks Paige for the shots. ;)

little brown babies x 6

awwwww.

these little boys and girls are soooo cute. Very hard not to pop one into the camera bag to come with me.

Thanks S for the play with them.

And of course I had to add the Sorbent toilet roll. LOL

Totally fab day today. Had the arvo off. Had a BBQ at a great friends home, ran amok with all the kids and finally, drum roll please, Annie is off trainer wheels.

This has been an ongoing bug bear of mine for quite some time, so I had a fair lump in my throat to see her ride free. And no major stacks either.

While I was feeling invincible (hic hic) I unloaded a tandem trailer of bark chips for the garden tonight. Totally unplanned, but hey, you get that.

Had a trip to North Shields on Saturday to check the site for the Retreat and to iron out some wrinkles. While there I had to climb up the inside wall of the shed a few times to try a few things out. Felt a bit like Superwoman. (Those abseiling days were a long time ago, but I remembered a couple of tips).

Only 4 sleeps to go.
Cant bloody wait.

Tiff twin

I have a counter part. A twin. A scrap sister. And LOL she is also Tiff. And we both dont use an iron.

Tiff had a little giveaway promo on her blog. You needed to describe 3 things about yourself. The idea was for Tiff to get to know her peeps a bit.

Maryanne was awarded a prize for her.....erm praps you better go to Tiff's blog to read it here
I confessed to my iron (less) issues amongst other quirks.
Have a look in the comments on her post to read and have a bit of a laugh.

2 ic

I was fishing for ideas for a title in this LO last Thursday night down in Lincoln. I was just stumped. One of the girls said 2 ic. My face must have looked so blank. She gave me a funny look and asked if had never heard of it. I was still a blank. I had no idea.
2nd In Charge.
oh I said. And started to laugh. A lot. I do live under a rock. I have not worked in a hierarchy system (obviously) so I have never come across the term 2 ic.
But if fits this LO perfectly.
journaling says
I'm not sure who was first or second in charge on this construction site. Annie and Dad excavating the hole to sink the ship container. This will be the future wine cellar and lock up of other items. 8.2.07

it's been madness

I have been a busy chicky and my blog is suffering.
I am sorry.
Since we got home late Wednesday, I have had 2 retreat meetings, lots of behind the scenes Retreat Planning, school sports day, a scrap night, playgroup, baby bounce, DH shooting away for this weekend. And its only Saturday. The rest of the weekend is just as mad.
Ah me.
I'll get around to posting pics and a LO as soon as I am able.

Thankyou for the lovely comments on the LO acceptance, the LBD that knocked socks off, and general well being. and yes Maryanne and Sandra, I did get some pics taken with the blog in mind. will post that when i edit it with 5 minutes to spare.
