8 cms

His version of the 8cms in 8 mths. I've used a combination of Vicki Boutin Let's Wander Mixed Media background paper, Shimelle Laine Field Trip - Measure Up and Cocoa Vanilla Sunkissed for this one. The three collections work well together.

splash

Many moons ago I was given a pack of coloured vellums which I've used a bit on this LO. A scraplift inspired by Pam Baldwin on Studio Calico.

she reads ...

The border punches saw the light of day with this one. Its a scraplift of someone's that I'm unable to find atm to give them the credit due. I used up heaps of scraps and love the textures within this one.

Scrapshack2021 mkI was a doozy. Many cocktails, a ripper sail out on Coffin Bay Explorer and a bit of creativity. Love this mob.

happy days

Something with a different shape from a traditional layout. Crushing hard on Cocoa Vanilla Studio's "Happiness" range and a zillion white paint splats.

8 mths 8 cms

I found it amazing how fast S has grown, but I didn't know he'd grown that much in 8 months. Thank goodness for photos to be able to record the milestone of shooting up past his sister who he has looked up to all his life. She's not impressed that she now has to look up to him lol. I've used a combination of Vicki Boutin Let's Wander Mixed Media background paper, Shimelle Laine Field Trip - Measure Up and Cocoa Vanilla Sunkissed for this one. The three collections work well together.

Trinity Craft Weekend

Home from a sensational weekend away by the sea surrounded by love, laughter, craft and infused with gin with a bit of scrapbooking on the side. Time well spent with beautiful souls to disconnect from the real world and reconnecting with those I've not seen for a while.

summer icecream

I'm so crushing on whatever Josefine Vdhoeven creates and I am so lucky to have found her for creative inspo. This one is no exception.

happy days

Repurposing the rainbow acetate cover from Vicki Boutin's foundation papers was the jump off point for this LO. I found the little chip monkey in my stash which was perfect embelly as well as the little rainbow stripe flair button.

play it loud

A puddle was too good a chance to pass up for a photo with the sax. We live on a farm so playing it loud was totally an option. LO 100% inspired by ScrappyCat Josefine using the gorgeous These Days collection from Cocoa Vanilla.

sunny days

Again sourcing inspo from the delighful Scrapycat Josefine. I just can't get enough of her inspiring work.

shoe tree mkII

There's many a time when a his and hers LO is created for their respective ablums because the story is important to both of them. Such as these two. Design concept is the same for both and the journaling is the same.

yours

I just can't seem to resist the circular LO's with the beautiful Cooca Vanilla ranges. Every time I see a circular bouquet/swag/wreath I know I have just the pic that would suit it. I've added crystal leaves on this one that I've had in my stash since forever. And looky looky, its a 12x12 LO. I've not done one of them since back in the day :)

tumby

Shameless lift from Steffi Ried. I've been crushing hard on her work and she's my go to for inspo, design and white space.

social distancing

All of a sudden social distancing has become very relevant again. This LO is based on a photo taken in 2020 when the kids visited their Great Grandpa during the beginning of Covid19 in Australia.  LO inspired by Terhi Koskinen

#scrapshack2021 - june

#scrapshack2021 june edition was all about the rainbow. We had the blowup rainbow, rainbow tableclothes, rainbow tassles, rainbow lip balms, rainbow erasers, rainbow notebook and the best of all was Mel's cute as personalised rainbow goodie bag.

LO inspired by the amazing Steffi Ried

embellish

A grid layer gets a lot of pics onto the LO. The delightfully summery range Sunkissed from Cocoa Vanilla Studio had the perfect little puffy cocktail embellies.

Journalling says: scrapshack is as much about embellishing the cocktails as it is about embellishing the layouts. 5 March 2021

caution : teen years ahead

Upto 8 background layers in this one to grunge and texturize it. Improvised a peace hand to a bird hand lol. Love it so much.

international scrapbooking day - insd 2021

Spent the evening with these creatives after spending the day strapping, icing and on the oils for my local footy/netty club. Full day has filled my bucket of life.

today

So very grateful to have been able to supply photography our our local area for the new library cards of Cummins Community Library back in 2013.

8 months and 8cm later

This is why I take photos. This is why I scrapbook to forever record the details of that moment the photo was taken. How else would I know that in 8 months there was an 8 cm growth spurt that these two photos pictorially puts the growth spurt of a teen boy in perspective.

I have flipped the bottom pic so Mr S is on the same side as the top pic to really show how much he's shot up recently. Needless to say Miss A is not terribly impressed by his new height status.

bakerman

Instead of taking the time off during school holidays and kicking back, Mr S was on voluntary work experience at Five Loaves Bakery.  He loves to bake at home, and anything with dough rocks his socks.

Work experience normally happens around here in year 10 and when they are 15 for school insurance purposes. Since Mr S isn't here next year as he's in college and he's already 15, we thought we'd get one in while he's still living at home as it was a lot easier logistically to get him to the 3.30am starts than it would have been in Adelaide.

To my surprise he loved the early starts and really got stuck into the jobs allotted to him. When he was home after his shift he stayed awake all day to his normal bedtime and was up at 2.45am to start work again.

He impressed me and he still loves to bake.

Who doesn'tn love a large title layout. A pinch of chain stitching, a dash of Cocoa Vanilla Midnight with a serve of journaling. All done.

Keeping it simple and sweet to showcase the merit award from way back in the day.

splash

I totally swooned when I saw Anri's LO on insta and asked her if I may unashamedly scraplift it. Like Anri's I too used the Sunkissed collection from Cocoa Vanilla. The Monstera cut file was Paige Evan's from the Silhouette Design Store which has been sized down to suit A4 size.

sweet moments

Mothers Day 2013 was all about plating up the Tim Tams. I still have the large yellow envelope full of Mr S's little messages which goes will go in the album next to this LO.

my son

Large photo format with minimal embellishing, letting the words and the photo shine.

little devil

Cocoa Vanilla Daydream was the perfect collection to go with the photo. Lots of layers built up from the mixed media and the wreath that was fussy cut from the original paper to fit my a4. Extra blooms popped up on foam squares as is the title. A sprinkle of gold sequins and lots of white splatters.
Journaling reads 'Dad would often stand behind any one of us and give us little devil horns.'

asthma

Sometimes simplicity is all it needs to get the story across. After all, scrapbooking is about recording the details of those memories before they are lost.

life is good

Gotta love those Vicki Boutin Color Kaleidoscope hearts that I've layered up in triplicate in a rainbow effect.

this is the shed that dad built

I keep all sorts of memorabilia for the sake of scrapbooking. I think being a scrapper encourages hoarding. I kept the booklet the kids made to thank K for building a large garden shed at school to house the outside play equipment.

authentic

An epic 4 day weekend away with scrapbooking and cocktails with laughs and sailing with the best of friends.

This one is loosely inspired by Ashley Neu.  I've used the gorgeous new range of Sunkissed from Cocoa Vanilla Studio.

port pirie gymnastics

Back in the day (2013) Mr S was pretty handy at Gymnastics. It didn't come easy and for him to get to the Pirie Regionals required many hours of extra training. It was so gratifying for him to see reward for his determination and practise by coming home with the only medal for our gym club at that comp.

stand tall, stretch high

This is one of my all time fave pics of my kids. The pastel rainbow was a perfect fit for this layout.
Sometimes when's its a significant photo or event I do a his and hers layout for their respective albums. This is hers.
