portable

My last reveal over at Twiddleybitz for this month. A very simple LO but still gets the message across. The TB I used is the school dayz scissorz

I've really enjoyed my month on TB and would really like to thank all the crew for having me along.

And on a personal note, thank you for the Facebook messages and texts of support and love while we've had Sean in hospital since yesterday. He's out tomorrow at this stage.

mateship

My second to last reveal over at Twiddleybitz. Products used are fence (set of 4), name plate carvedschool dayz (bag of 3)

In hind sight I would have had a white picket fence with orange cracks inked on it, and not the other way round. This was based on a Color Room Pallette. The name plate has Tim Holtz Distress Paint on it

We've been away in Pirie for Annie's gym where I shot a lot of images (over 900) for the gym club. I'll be finishing them tonight, 5 photoshoots since then, away last weekend to celebrate my 40th in Coffin Bay with my 10 besties!!! We stayed @ Sir Isaac's and took The Coffin Bay Explorer for a sunset jaunt around the harbour, all with an 80's dressup theme and belting out a few tunes!!. Sean's been sliding downhill with asthma and we are at the end of the redipred cycle so I think we'll be visiting the doc as I have nothing left in my ammo to fight it anymore. I have another 2 photoshoots in the next 2 days (weather pending), various committee commitments to fullfill, preping for the Year 12 Grad photos (timetabling appointments and working around hair, makeup etc will be a nightmare!!). I'm heading up to Whyalla on Sunday to train as a SA Camera Club Country Judge. And that is just this week. Next week is chock-a-block all ready too.

a dream come true....

I've just gone ahead, swallowed hard and clicked enter on my shopping cart. I've decided to invest further in quality hardware, and more knowledge.

I have a couple of birthday pressies on their way to me......

just in time to get some practise in before shooting the Year 12 Graduation Photos at the Lincoln Hotel next month.

Happy Birthday to me.... happy birthday to me...... happy big ol' 40........ happy birthday to me.

On this LO I used the Twiddleybitz scallop shell chipshape as the basis of my tutorial for this month's guest DT for this month. (scroll down to the bottom of the Ning home page and you'll see it there). The scallop shell texture is the actual tutorial based on the Twiddleybitz chipboard, texture paste and glass beads.

Port Pirie Gym Comp

Annie and I had the most fantastic and rewarding weekend at the Port Pirie Gym Comp. Our local club had 9 Gymnasts competing and the total attending for the weekend was in excess of 400. Just huge.

One of our girls came home with a 3rd for her level. Her very first trophy ever for her!!! It will no doubt be put up in pride of place along side her brother and sisters' accolades.

Two of our boys came home with medals. Their enthusiasm was so infectious!!!

I was asked by the Gym club to shoot photos of our Gymnasts this weekend and I took over 900. Most of them show each routine of each competitor in sequence. By that I mean for the floor routine, I may have taken say 20 shots to show each element so the kids can see for themselves where they lost points.

I had a blast. The kids were knackered.

Port Pirie is to be commended for catering so well for the extremely large numbers. Saturday didn't finish to 1am. Thank goodness our club's gymnast had finished by 8.15pm. Even so, some of us had to be there by 7.45am and that was long enough.

I wont show any pics of the other kids but I will pop a couple of Annie here.

Mum and the 'M' men

I had a ball with this family the other night. I know them really well, so there was a fair bit of fun to had. The boys even boycotted their parent's vehicle and drove around their farm with me. I felt so special. And they all very special to me!!

farmer's joy

This is what gives joy to the cereal farmer. A strong head of wheat flowering in the sunshine after a soft rain. Nothing could soothe his soul more!!

snap happy photography exhibition

If you have a few spare minutes whilst in Cummins, head around to the school and wander into the Hall. One of the Year 12 Art students has organized an Exhibition of Photography. She asked local talent to participate and so she can fulfil this part of her syllabus.

Its open during school hours from October 13th to the 22nd. And also this Saturday from 10.30am to 1.30pm.

There are different awards for each section and also an outstanding photography award for best overall photo.

I've entered a few, shutter sister Laura has entered a few, and I do know the school printer was flat out on Monday printing up last minute images.

So hop in there and check out some local talent.

crabs

Another sneak peek reveal for the guest Design Team spot @ Twiddleybitz for this glorious month of October. I used a Martha Stewart Border Punch and edges of a paper lace doily to create the waves on the sea. And that little crab is so cheeky, I just to include him. The little girls is one of the School Dayz Kids Border and the boat is from the Basic Beach Pack of 5.

The S's

When a photo shoot has been suggested from the young adults to their parents, its pretty much guaranteed to be a rippa time.

So relaxed and funny. Especially Mr R who just hammed it up by skipping around with the read brollie.

Good times and great shots indeed. Thanks guys. Believe me, it was all my pleasure.

summer colour

In between photo shoots, processing of those shoots and the kids being on the nebuliser nearly all  holidays I have managed to scrap a tiny bit. Time is fleeting and the kids have been so not well with their asthma at all.

can now reveal after publication

We had a trip planned to go up to the Head of the Bight for whale watching. That had to be cancelled as Sean developed his asthma. That was over a week ago and we are still battling it. At that point we couldn't be away from a power point for his neb any more than an hour, and it was just too far from a hospital for just in case. And yes, it's often severe enough to warrant that 'just in case'. Then Annie's developed as well. After the last BIG scare we had with her asthma I slept in her room and monitored her really closely. We got over that hump as well, but we just cant seem to climb up the hill to get both kids really well.

So all in all, the kids have had a fairly mundane break from school. They have not once complained that they were bored or started fighting amongst themselves. I am so very thankful that I have good kids.

I've been booked solid for this last 10 days or so for photo shoots, and I'm just getting the logistics together for a huge one in November. With that one in mind and another public event that I'm the hired Paparazzi for November is totally booked out. I just cant accept any more in that month as the process work for these two is massive.

Make sure you head over to Twiddleybitz to check out the Ning Gallery to see what's happening this October where I'm the guest Designer for this month. There's a number of local ladies there too!!

golden light on barley

I came home late last night after a photo shoot just in time to catch the last golden ray of sunlight on our barley. I just love how the bearded head of flowering grain really picked up the beautiful light.

The S Family

Seeing this area North of where I live so green is hugely wonderful. Green is so soothing to my eye. I visited this family on their land on Monday and spotting wombat holes in that lush feed was a bit of a trick. Don't worry, we didn't drive in any that day (thank goodness).

Thanks heaps for having me guys, and enjoy your sneak peek.
