family

Paige came over for a sleep over, just like old times. And again just to relive old times, we had chocolate pudding at midnight.
Annie wrote out a page of 10 reasons why she should stay up late and join us for the Midnight Chocolate Pudding. Of course I kept that to scrap later on.  ;)

While Paige was here the polaroid camera came out for a play. We had two shots of everything, one for me to scrap, and one for her fridge. And the best bit is that Paige wrote a special little message to both kids on their photos with her. As time passes, those little messages will become more and more priceless.

reassured

Its been a while since I've scrapped and I had a dear friend who got me enthused again. And man oh man I struggled. 2 days of struggling. 3 attempts to get it happening. And while I'm not overly thrilled with this one, it is done. I'm thru over thinking it. lol

The best bit I really like is that I tried my hand at brush scripting which seems to be gaining popularity. The funny thing is that Lou Nelson showed me this technique in a class about 2 years ago. She's so ahead of her time me thinks.

And I'm really enjoying using polaroids from my Polaroid camera. Especially the fact that the people in the pic can write on them. And that's even more special.

BW phototech article for Scrapbooking Memories

A while ago I had an email drop into my inbox inviting me to be part of the 2014 creative team for Scrapbooking Memories.

My photography in my layouts to Scrapbooking Memories had caught the managements eye and I was asked if I would be interested in writing a few articles and create a layout to support that article. They also wanted to change the format a bit so its less wordy and include the layout on the same page.

I found the 'less wordy' bit tricky as I found it hard to condense it back to a certain amount of words but still keep the essence of the BW theme.

This article really isn't a 'how to' set the camera up to best shoot your photo, but more about creating the best BW with the images you already have with a couple of hints and tips.

And the Layout created to support the article.

rainwater

Rainwater. 270 000 litres (46 000 gallons) or 51mm (2 inches) of rain in the last 24 hours means water in the tanks and we are full. Eyre Peninsula. South Australia.

It also meant flight delays and cancellations galore as Lincoln was fogged in last night and Adelaide was in a deluge today.

So our trip to Adelaide, flying out today has been canned, the appointments rescheduled and the Men's Gymnastic Coach training has been postponed.

If nothing else the day was an example to the kids on how to not stress, go with the roll, get on phone asap to sort stuff out and not to sweat the small stuff.

he's 8

Today he's 8.

We had a birthday cake at school complete with candles and I took in his surfboard so he could show his mates what his early pressie looks like.  He got the board early January while we had our summer holidays at the beach.

Tea at the pub and a quiet night as he, she and me are up early to catch a flight to Adelaide for the weekend. They've not a clue who, what or where we are going, just that we are going somewhere. I just love springing these trips on them.

on the news tonight......

.... was Sean running across the screen in the news segment about the Adelaide Crows skills training day yesterday. In fact he featured twice as he was the teaser footage at the beginning of the news and then again during the actual report.

That's my boy!!

adelaide crows

We were so lucky with the weather for the Adelaide Crows skills training today. Stinker hot yesterday, cool today and warming up again as of tomorrow.

I followed Sean with my Polaroid 300 instamatic camera so I could ask the boys to sign their photos with Sean. We don't do footy cards as of yet, so this was my solution. One of the boys thought it a far better idea than signing the same footy cards over and over.  That made me smile a lot.

The layout says it all.

time out

What a day to be on the water yesterday. Here at home it reached a stinker 45.9 degrees according to the Bureau of Met. On the water south of Port Lincoln it spiked at 40 degrees for 15 minutes before gently coming back a bit.

Torsten and Stephanie who were here on the Eyes of Asia South Australia Getaway last September came back for a visit last week. Finally I was able to catch up with them and the local gang on Friday night for dinner at Del Giorno's. The gang being Fran Solly, Bazz Hockaday, John White, Rob Lang and me.

Sunday was forecasted to be a great day for sailing according to Bazz and Fran and we were all invited to come out on their yacht for the day.

Lots of shenanigans, photos, Gopro Videos, prawns, wine and laughs were had. Best of all the water to perfect.

What happened on the yacht, stays on the yacht.
