books at bedtime

We've just had our scrapshackAF last weekend and we had the delightful Rachel Rigden with us. An off the cuff question was asked to Rachel for the latest challenge on Kraft+ blog, which is books. As it happened my very next LO I had planned to do was about Sean reading his bedtime story to me instead of my reading it to him. So with a bit of stash busting and a cute silhouette cut file I had a Kraft+ challenge done.

explore and travel

I often do the his and hers LO's at the same time and often the same way, just to get it done and dusted.

happy easter

The easter egg shapes are cutfiles from gold card and I lightly traced the shapes and filled with colour with liquid chalk pens.
Simple. Easy. Done.

I'm so very thankful of the photos I have of my Dad now that he's not here anymore. Lots of memory joggers for all of us. And it's all good.

get your dance on

I used a Kiki K folder as the base for this one, played around with some Vicki Boutin watercolours and created the large lettered title cut file. Job is done.

happy days

Cocoa Vanilla Midnight Collection is just so divine. It's a pleasure to scrap with. Scrapping photos with my Dad in them is getting easier but it still rips my heart tho. I'm now ever so thankful for those photos that I have with Dad in them as they are the memory triggers. I remember the occasion, his voice, his laugh and his joy with his grandkids.

leap of faith

I just love a very finely cut title. And that icecream is just the perfect accent needed for this LO.

13

So this bonza bloke turns 13 today (officially at 6.42pm). We couldn't be more proud of the young man he's turning into. Happy Birthday my man. A teenager at last celebrating his 13th lap around the sun.

hello paige

Sometimes there's just a lot of the story and a lot of the photos that requires a bit of imagination to fit them all onto one page.

navy cadets

So with much excitement on his behalf, Sean has join Navy Cadets. He's been involved on the peripheral through Annie being in Cadets before she left for Adelaide, so he has a small idea of what's involved.

So he has at least 3 camps coming up this year and lots of skills, marching drills, public events and fun to come.

He's never rated anything ever as a 10/10 as nothing is perfect, but as soon as he had his uniform on, he felt like he belonged. It was a big 10 from him.

I'm beyond thrilled to see him this happy.

leap in2 summer

congratulations

The background of ship wheels was created with whipped spackle and a mask onto black cardstock. Sometimes its the simplest things make a great impact.

right now

The date of this 'right now' was back in November 2018. In time to come this will be a treasured piece with his handwriting and thoughts of what was important to him at the time. A little bit like a time capsule.

ra'na

Playing around with watercolours and cutfiles.  The kids are more than happy to let me add their medals and awards to the their scrap pages as they know where to find them later in their lives and the story that goes with each one.

tumby bay 2019 so far...

Tumby Bay summer 2019 is producing the goods. We've kicked back several cogs and relaxing into Tumby Time. Our first few days were particularly relaxing. VacSwim stared last week of which Annie is working as an instructor and Sean has an afternoon lesson (not with Annie thank goodness). This week Family Mission has started and Sean's in the young teens group during the morning and VacSwim in the arvos.

Next week is back to the relaxing, no commitments and just chillaxing time. Not to mention fishing, sand between the toes and skin warmed by the sun.

Jewel of the South.

The very comfortable main bedroom with the seabreeze wafting through the sheer drapes

With permission from the owners, our budgies are on summer holidays too.

Sand salt sea.

Instructor for VacSwim. Encouraging a reluctant participant to do a safety entry from the jetty platform.

Got to get the obligatory feet photo with the kids.

sports day

I've been cracking out a few LO's printed directly onto cardstock lately. Most of them have many photos on each LO so its just easier to print either in collage or arranged onto A4 cardstock. These two LO's are just the example of what I mean.
