child labour

I looked for a long time to find charms or small tool embellishments for the this LO. I had an idea in mind but I just couldn't find what I needed. So plan B became plan A.  Even more so when I found the paintbrush and splats cutfiles.  The colour splats just pop off the page with vibrancy.

child labour

The Cocoa Vanilla Studio Happiness Expressive backing paper was perfect for this LO for its painterly look. And the clear watercolour stickers in the top left were just the perfect accessory too.

#wwww2019

What a rippa weekend away with 15 other like minded crafty souls at #wwww2019.   A time away from the real world, a time to not have to think about cooking as we were fully catered by Alicia's.  She is the bomb. The quality of her culinary concoctions is far greater than a certain 4.5 star hotel that caters for functions. This is her 6th year of partnering with us and we are so grateful.

The weekend is about connections, laughter, scrapbooking and other creative crafts with the odd cocktail thrown in. I must admit Gina's Mojitio was my undoing on Saturday night. Man that was a cracker.

Many a LO was created, watercolours painted, sewing sewed and just general all round getting crafty.

This was this years crew.
We nearly had to move into the Wudinna Hall as we nearly had too many for the Senior Citz.  #scrapbookingisnotdead.

you are awesome

Large photo layouts with lots of empty space are just the best. Impact with simplicity.

master apprentice

Gesso as the base, Gel Medium as the resist through a stencil for the woodgrain texture, watercolours and metallic sprays for the woodgrain, and a lot of little itty bitty buttons that happened to be the perfect colour embellishments that matched with the tab colours on the photo.

Cheers Southo for the photo op back in 2012. Joel's grown a bit since then hey! Mr S too!

wwww

The timing of this post is quite serendipitous Our very first wwww scrapbooking weekend at Wudinna.
We are just about to have our 7th one in a couple of weekends time.  I so can't wait for that. The number of attendees has grown and we've had to move to the Hall as we've out grown the Senior Citizens headquarters. How cool is that!!

men @ work

I've had those little tool embellishments since forever knowing there would be a photo coming with construction involved.

The framework cut file is actually a random brick cutfile but flip it around and it become posts and noggins on a worksite. You just need to think outside of the square sometimes.

baking

100% inspired and 100% scraplifted from Paige Evans.  I just cant get enough of that chain stitching. Admittedly it did take a while but its oh so worth it.  Ephemera is the sweetest Happy Collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studios. Love love love it.

This is my best LO ever in my eyes.

winter

I've used the title cut out from the previous LO on this one to create a bw on colour effect.  Soft and understated.  Makes the orange just pop off the page.

winter

Heavily inspired by Paige Evans with the large title with chain stitching and by Amy who mentioned the infamous line from Game of Thrones 'Winter is coming'.  Seeing the date of the photo was already in winter the journaling was changed to reflect that winter is here.

mothers day belatedly

We didn't do Mother's Day on the day this year. Miss Collage girl wasn't home for that weekend and it just didn't sit right with me to celebrate it without her so we delayed it for a week.  Miss Collage Girl was home this weekend for exeat so we had it today instead. And it was the best.

The most delish smashed avo for breakfast at L'Anse Cafe in Tumby with the kids,

followed by cuddles, playing, hugs and feeling Baby Ringwood move while visiting our extended family.

Oh and new slippers. Llamas of course

My day is complete.

you & me

star student

Even tho it doesn't look like it, theres a lot of background layers in this one. Firstly the blue inked stars through a stencil. Then the clear impasto dots layer which gave resist to the water colour layer. Followed by a layer of whipped spackle stars. Then the certificate went on front and centre.

men at work

Always good to see heads down bums up men at work. Concreting the car shed back in 2012

not mother's day...

Mother's Day for me is delayed for a week so we can all embrace it when Collage Girl is home next weekend on exeat.

But today was special in its own way. Mr S gave the gift of time. Today I spent that time with 11 other kids and a junior golf coach to help the kids develop their love for the game of golf. And judging by the grins at the end of sesh, they've found the love.
Hugely rewarding day.
