I watched a Vicki Boutin live on Facebook to create this background. Its all about the layering of colours bit by bit. It takes a while to build the depth but the intensity of the colour and the translucency of the gelato drips is awesome.
Having a blast with rainbows atm. Using Vicki Boutin Sunburst paper from the Let's Wander Collection. This one is 100% inspired by Vicki Parker on the Hip Kit Club blog, who in turn was inspired by Missy Whidden.
Can you spot where a sequin went rogue and disappeared from the sunburst? drat it.
Followed the colour scheme of the cogs embellies with stitching in white. Could have (should have stitched in the same colour in the different segments. (too lazy)
I stacked several Home cutfiles to create enough depth for the little house buttons inside. Originally it was going to be a shaker box idea with the buttons but I liked them this way instead. In hindsight I wouldn't have put the clear transparency layer on as I really didn't need to in the end.
I saved the solid hearts from a previous cut file and cut some lacy hearts to fit. Dipped all of them into pink, red and black watercolours which gave them a lighter pink, dark pink and gray look to them. Inspired by Scrapycat Josefine lacy hearts.
