We played a waiting game for this shoot. I was waiting for the fresias to pop out into flower in this spot that I've visited for the last couple of years.
It was worth the wait.
There's a couple of extra ones in THIS album at Tiff Firth Photography.

she's 12
oh my.
Twelve-teen already. Time is zipping past faster than ever, and that scares me a bit.
Right now she's only an inch shorter than me, the same shoe size as me, and is way more amazing than I'll ever be. Love her to pieces.
She's grown from this bundle of joy.....
...to this bundle of joy!!
Paige came over and stayed last night so she could wake Annie up for her birthday. Paige is a VERY special member of our family. She lived with us when she was in Year 11 and most of year 12 to do the subjects she needed at school to get into uni and study nursing. She's now a RN and a graduate midwife. She rocks our world, and with her we are 5.
Tonight Annie had a friend come home after school to have tea and share her birthday cake. I'll put in a disclaimer right here. I'm not a cake decorator by a looooong shot, nor do I bake cakes. I've tried and tried and my sponges are hard, flat, lumpy bricks so I don't bother anymore. This year I bought the sponge from Five Loaves Bakery and was inspired by my sister in law to try to do a 'anti'gravity cake'. Paige put me onto Betty Crocker Frosting (never heard of it before that) and a bit of learning via YouTube and it was done. Annie was pleased as punch and that's all that matters.

glengyle homestead
Lots of laughs with these guys on a balmy winters evening.
Siblings.
The crew
Boots just lights up when there's sheep in view. Sheep are just what makes him tick
Eddie and the cattle have an unusual relationship. They love him. He tolerates them sniffing him, licking him and getting in his personal space. I've not seen anything quite like it.
There's a few more over in the Glengyle Homestead album on Tiff Firth Photography

modannalee canvas
This is when its really exciting for me. This is when the pictures I take come to life. I see them on screen, be it camera or computer, and its not until the delivery of the print/canvas that I truly see how great it is in the eyes of the client. I get such a kick out of their excitement when I'm able to be there to reveal the piece.
To see something that I've photographed hanging proudly on someones wall is such an honor, and just a little humbling.

modannalee
Property portraits are starting to take off this season.
This image comprises of 24 frames stitched together to form a 2 metre canvas that is now hanging on the clients' wall. I was lifted up in a safety cage on a forklift to have the height needed to capture the homestead over the canola.
What a view. Cummins on the far left, Marble Range, North Block, South Block, Mount Greenly, Kapinnie silos in the far distance, and Yeelanna silos on the right side of frame.

afternoon at north block
For those who couldn't come up to North Block with the Camera Club last Sunday. Or if you wondered what the world looks like from up there. Fish (Gary Fisher), who came and spoke at Camera Club couple of months ago, came up and shot time lapse. Even tho the light was flat and the sky grey, this is what he captured. Just amazing.
Thanks Gary for letting me share it here.

munchkin
Meet Munchkin. She's the one that went AWOL for a fortnight, only to be found in town some 9kms away. I still believe that she somehow managed to hitchhike a ride into town under one of our vehicles. (story here, at the bottom of the blogpost)
She's pretty cute, pretty cuddly and she's stolen the kid's hearts. Sean's especially.
