I believe in the incentive/reward system. It works for our family. 

If I'd like a few photos of the kids for a specific reason its usually a banana paddle pop reward.

When we are in Tumby on our summer holidays, if they do well for   their daily VacSwim, they get a scoop ice cream  And there's not much more summery than a kid hopping into the melting ice cream :-)
