So I took myself and Denise up to Elliston for a bit of shutter action. I've not really spent any time here and I've always wanted to photograph the area. So this weekend was it. Denise knows the lay of the land and I'm mentoring her via the Camera Club, so it was a win/win weekend.
I left Cummins late Friday morning and I'm now home late Sunday afternoon. Well and truly stuffed. Lots of cracker shots in the bag to work on, lots of hidden nooks explored and a shit load of laughs with a truly wonderful friend.
I even made my peace with Lock's Well. I was there as part of the SES abseil retrieval team to recover a deceased male who fell quite a long time ago. I don't really remember a lot of the day, I think my mind has blanked it out as part of my coping mechanism. So to go back yesterday was truly a revelation. The infrastructure there now was not there then. Denise and I spent nearly 4 hours there. Just enjoying the sights, sounds, smells and a glass or two of wine. And a bit of camera action. (pics to come)
I haven't had a lot of time to work thru many images (we were both far too pooped to do too much when we got back to the cabin after 9pm at night), but I do have two from a sunrise and sunset at the same place.
and a few snaps from the iPhone and from Denise.
Lock's Well.....
One of the clifftop Sculptures.
Another one on the way into town.
These ones are from Denise. I love them. Its not often I am in front of the camera and in the action, so I treasure these!!!
Coming home via Sheringa and Lake Lambert.
This weekend will live long in my memories.
