you're my hope for the future

I love ink but am a nervous stamper.

So to get over it, I thought I'd have a bit of a play with it. The very light shades of pink near the title and at the top middle aren't there irl. I think its the shadow cast by the scanner with the pearls.

While I am not overly thrilled with this LO, it still shows my venture into stamps.

portraiture

the meaning of portraiture is
1. the art of portraying
2. a pictorial representation; a portrait.

heidi swapp PP and some A4 flocked stationary I found in a newsagents. went for a bit of drama with grey black and crimson as the only colours.
I really like how this one turned out.

flutterby

a challenge LO in 2 ways.

1. E2C has a pearls challenge atm. so the pearl afterburner (lol) flight path of the large butterfly fits that one.

2. Puzzle sketches April page. The page needs to include these elements amongst anything else you choose to use.

the arrow is there. Its a very tiny one drawn with a white pen from the date to Annie.

and i LOVED throwing the paint around. For some absurd reason it felt fulfilling. No idea why!!

shutter action

Moved away from the scrap desk today.

After cleaning the ceiling fans and putting the switch to Winter, I lit the fire. Yes. Its true. There is nothing more homely than a fire and a puff of smoke coming out the chimney.

BUT before I could light it I had to clean the flu. With Kym away that became my job. As well as fixing a toilet leak and putting in brackets under a shelf that had dropped in my pantry. Cant wait for Kym to get back home.... ;)

A couple of days ago, after baths and when the light was soft I took the kids outside for a quick shoot with a great prop. A 1kg Easter Egg. A bit of a story with the egg. I have given my Grandfather an extra large egg for a number of years. So I very carefully took it out of the box, and very carefully let the kids handle it. And then very carefully put it back in the box. Phewww.

Today while Sean was asleep Annie went for a ride on her bike. She is very much a 'L' plater atm. So as she pedalled and giggled I ran with the camera. It would have looked very funny from her point of view.

That's the thrills and spills of today.

I adore you

can now reveal....

LO 8 of Project 7.

I know, I know. youre thinking 'what????'
I am on a scrap roll atm so I am steaming on ahead with the Project 7 challenge and see where I end up.
Project 7 is a challenge on a forum. 7 LOs in 7 days, as well as commenting on everyone elses as well. Nearly a full time job LOL.

introduction

LO 7 for Project 7.

Easter 2007. Annie was introduced to Koalas. She insisted on a closer look so Grandma Jane was happy to oblige.

I tried to imitate the gum leaves with folds and creases. Pretty happy with it.

And depending on which magazine you read, they reckon yellow is the new colour. Moving on from green. So..... time will tell I guess.
so project 7 all done and dusted. I actually finished this on Thursday night but waited to today for the lovely light to photograph it for the layering of the leaves.
But I will keep going with the mojo flowing atm. I feel like I have achieved heaps of scrapping, heaps of housework, heaps of little fix up jobs done that Kym would normally do (as he's in QLD atm) and heaps of time with the kidlets. I guess its all to do with balance.
cya tomorrow.
easter photo shoot to post.

granny & those elusive easter eggs

LO 6 of Project 7.

I don't do the 8.5x12 LO's very often, so thought it time to give it a go again. I have noticed that my LOs of late have a collage look to them. I think it's from flicking thru CK,checking out Leanne Stamatellos blog frequently, and a way of getting thru a mountain of pics efficiently. Oh and learning how to do them on PS has helped sway me a bit too. (thanks Sandra). Saying that, this is good ol paper cut up with a ruler and craft knife.

This is Easter 07. So I am exactly 2 years behind on Annie's pics. At the rate I'm going atm I'll catch up for sure, but the rush wont last. I'll enjoy the ride while its here tho ;)

she...

LO 5 of Project 7.

Had an idea from Jessica Sprague. But instead of using her PS brushes, I'd make do with what I've got. So with a bit fiddling I managed to make brush borders and with two different colours and large enough for a 12x12 LO.
This is inspired by Paige. *waving to you*
2nd year uni this year.
so proud of you.
you go girl.

my man's a winner

Kym is the King.

He is in Roma in QLD for the National Clay Target Shooting Comp. Some 800 hundred shooters are there this year. There are a number of grades to this sport
AA (the elite (Olympians)) and the very bloody good. (Kym is normally in this grade)
A (Kym atm)
B
C
Ladies
Juniors
Veterans

Kym is the National A grade winner for the Medley event. 25 targets each of double barrel, single barrel, point score, handicap and one other (not sure what this one is)

(Annie sent up her doll called Bob (??no idea why??) to look after Dad while he's away. Bob is wearing Kym's gong)

To be in AA you need higher than 98.5% accuracy over 500 targets. that is miss no more than 7 out of 500. (I think that's about right, close enough)

I am very very very proud of my man.
(pic pinched from one of my posts back in January.)

Sean telling his Dad what a champ he is. LOL

pedal power

seeing a lot of blue lately. not bad for a chick who is not particularly motivated by that colour.
oh well.

LO 4 for Project 7 ( and its only Day 2 LOL.)

I used texture paste for the flourish and popped the bike there to make it look like its burning rubber. LOL. And a bit of pearl to show that its a chick smoking up her tyres. LOL
am adding a bit of lace and bits to the autograph LO below.

your autograph

have been on a bit of a scrapping roll of late.

Spring cleaning this morning. Started off as a hunt for a mouse that was a bit on the nose. After stripping all the beds and turning the mattresses over while I was at it, I found it. Hidden behind the bed leg on the floor. bye bye mousee.

wash wash wash. beautiful day out there even tho I didn't see much of it.

went into town to give J a start on Photo shop *waves*

Had a phone call from Kym in Roma QLD. SA came 2nd in the National Clay Target Shooting Titles for the team event today. yay for him. I am so very proud of him getting into the team but pulling a team 2nd (Victoria came 1st) is fantastic. And to top it off the SA Veterans won, the SA ladies won and the SA juniors came 4th. Big day for SA.

A fantastic young chap (all of 17yrs) from Kimba came 2nd in the National Title for Point Score. This is out of some 800 shooters. And he is a junior to boot but kicked Senior ass. Go B. So proud of you. You are really in the zone mate. Keep the concentration focused. Its a long week ahead yet.

anyway LO 2 of Project 7 (7 in 7 days)

this is how you curtsy

and another. LO 3 of Project 7.

journaling says

hold skirt out, foot behind and bend the knees.

so always love your family

Morning.

I am involved in a Project 7 challenge. 7 LOs in 7 days.

so day 1.

Little Yellow Bicycle love notes paper. so divine. and lots of subtle bling.

can now reveal......

such a gorgeous day here today. i should be outside in the garden!! Dont think I'll get there somehow. Since the scrap bug bit so hard the garden has had to be self reliant. Luckily when I planted it so long ago it was with low maintaince in mind. Paying off divedends now.

Thankyou to all the lovely Peeps who take the time to leave a comment. I love getting them and read them all. It does make maintaining a blog all the more worth while when I get feedback. And not just chatting to myself out there. So thanks to you again.

cheers

Miss Diva

This one came together at the scrap nite up at Shabby Chic Shack. *waves*.
I finished another project too but I cant show that one just yet. *wink*
We have had Miss T stay with us yesterday and last night. She is about to go home shortly. She has helped me cook pancakes this morning, lunge Jerry (my horse), she scrapped and now she's chilling out with a DVD with the kidlets.
Yesterday she had a photo shoot, assisted in a huge big toss out of Annie's toybox stuff to fit in her homework desk, splashed around in the wading pool with the kids, collected the eggs from the chooks, helped out with tea, and had long false nails put on.
She is such a joy to have and is wonderfully helpful. Thanks T. We would love you to come back any ol' time.

nostalgia

I just had a flick back in Annie's first scrap album.

A conversation came up the other day about what day your children were born on. For the life of me I couldn't remember. A bit embarrassed too.

So hence the 'flick back'

I have learnt something very valuable.

Styles come and go, but its the story behind the photo and the photo itself that is so important. And date everything. Something I didnt do a lot of in the beginning (6.5 years ago), and now I wished I had have. I have been religious about dating every LO for a number of years now.

So i just switched off from the world for awhile and took a trip down memory lane.

no news

nothing to blog about really. Havent scrapped today. Had school canteen, followed by an education in Apple Mac computers followed by Annie's gym, followed by tea, followed by a search for a fowl smelling dead mouse in behind the pantry, followd by LO paperwork for mags, followed by office furniture rearrange. So have been on the 'puter for a bit to make sure I plugged everything back in right.

so far so good.

scrapchat day tomorrow. I bet Sean doesnt sleep in his swag again. Scrap nite at Shabby Chic Shack this Friday nite. wahu. cant wait for that one.

oh and Kym leaves tomorrow for 2 or 3 weeks for his National Titles comp for clay target shooting. So I will be living the life of a single mother for a bit.

tbh I love it when Kym is away, and I love it when he comes home. Keeps things fresh iykwim???? ;)

safe on Dad's back

just gotta love Little Yellow Bicycle. The Fleur Edge is divine. And works so well with Kraft card and raw chip. Book page torn from my school Thesaurus. (it's falling apart so I didn't feel too guilty about ripping into a book) LOL

green green grass of home

challenge LO from the E2C blog. Using diamonds. (not the bling kind)

So used the perforating and the pinking blade in the Kaiser Cutter. As DH would say, use the right tool for the right job!

just gotta love Love Elsie

Tiff had a little comp on her blog a little while back. You need to leave in your comment 3 quirky things about yourself. I had to confess that I lack iron. Not in my diet, but I don't do any ironing. In fact I don't own an iron. So this little fact, amongst others that I let her know of, won me a prize. And LOL Tiff added a Christmas card to say hi. She is one funny chick who is having a ball trying out Challenge blogs and she is doing really really well. She has won lots of bits and pieces for herself.

So thanks Tiff for my Love Elsie goodies. The will come in good use on the right page no doubt.
;)
