every child needs a pet

Annie and Max.

He's 3.5 years old now. She cares for him all by herself, other than the muscle help of sliding out the bottom of his hutch once a week to clean it. She's in total control. Not only has she learnt responsibility,  she has learnt of consideration eg. bringing him to his inside box on really hot days before she goes to school. She has learnt about welfare eg. cleaning his hutch once a week, fresh food and clean water every day. And above all she has learnt the love of animals.

We love him too. He comes with us to our Summer holidays each year to the Coast. We are fortunate enough that the apartment owners know us to allow us bring his hutch and he lives in the shade on the lawn at the beach. He even spends a bit of time on the beach. He even features on one of the stick family stickers on the back of my hilux. He's very much a part of the family.
