trinity haven, milky way and southern aurora

Saturday night at the e2c mini retreat at Trinity Haven, I had word that there was another Aurora happening on the Southern horizon. And rating higher on the scale than the last one.

So I grabbed Denise and Mel and with our cameras, we headed about 1km away from the Retreat to minimize light pollution and set up our cameras to see what we could see.

With a little light painting by Mel, this is what we came up with.

The red glow on the left is the Aurora Australis and the foreground is the crisp white sands of Trinity Haven.

So glad we left the Retreat for an hour or so, to see this, get some fresh air and come back inside really fired up. I was getting stale from being inside a lot.
