dutton bay christmas lights

Janice, Sarah, the kids and I took a little trip to the extraordinary Christmas Display at the Church near Dutton Bay. The detail and the amount of work to construct all the displays and the 'magic cave' is astounding. 10 weeks. And all by a couple of elderly people who do it for the love it and for the children of the community. What huge hearts.

Its well worth the drive. For a donation ( I would strongly advised a folding note to pay for the power bill) you'll be toured around the display in a cart towed by a mower and then can wander in the cave (donation box in the cave). It comes alive from 9pm to 11pm each night until the end of December.

This is my fave shot of the night. Tripod, f13,, 3.2sec. ISO 100. 50mm focal length (my nifty fifty lens which I hardly ever use)

The Nativity is in the arched window of the Church (which is a converted private premises) and the cave is their shed that is chock a block of eye candy.  And I spotted the Nut Cracker.

And the full moon tonight was just amazing. We were driving at the time of its best show, but I did manage to catch it in one of the shots. :O) Not the greatest but it shows what time of year it is lol
