Lens family that is

After a lot of research, trying out a lens or two and swallowing my heart as it leapt into my mouth when I hit that enter button, I decided upon this one.
I've taken a bit of leap of faith in myself and invested some $$$ back into a bit of hardware. Whilst this is not the top notch canon "L" series, (need a lot of cash for that), I looked at the IS series. I had a really good look at the cheaper lenses by other companies, within the same focal range, but I just couldnt go past the specs on this one.
I'll be putting it through its paces this evening at our annaul Trader's Christmas night. Lots of different things to point the lens at with all varieties of light.

Sometimes i really really want to get a digi SLR and learn how to use it... but then i would want lenses and stuff to, and so i stick with my 'when i grow up i'll be a canon DSLR'.... canon s5is..lol
